13 NUMBERS AND 20 GLYPHS — SYMBOLISM CALENDRICAL PURPOSE OF THE MANDALA
CALENDRICAL STRUCTURE (TIME MODULE) The time value ascribed to the basic unit determines the type of 260-unit fractal construct:
1 UNIT (kin) = 1 DAY — 260 units = 260-day cycle = 1 TZOLKIN
1 UNIT (kin) = 1 TUN — 260 units = 260 tuns = 13-katun cycle = 1 SHORT COUNT
1 UNIT (kin) = 1 KATUN — 260
units = 5200 tuns = 1 LONG COUNT
IN THE MANDALA — WHEEL OF TIME
[a dream] CHUWEN has jumped out of its dreamtime calendar
wheel and the Human Monkey landed into the forest. Infuriated, out of
control. Swinging his arms in a fury. The re-materialization of Time
will now begin! TZOLKIN (DAY-COUNT) COMPONENT
Revolving with the mathematico-poetics of 20 glyphs and 13 numbers, the Mandãla Wheel of Time — its central, heart organ — regulates the circulatory, respiratory, and visual memory flow around its fixed structural skeleton. A living Kalachakra is thus created — nothing less than a breathing architecture of Time. Grounded in eternity, moving the field of time.
Design of the 20 glyphs is closely based on historical stone carvings and bark paper paintings (which themselves experienced variations over time and cultures). They have been redesigned in a streamlined and geometrical style, encased in the simple perfection of the square. Exacting and precise yet organic and alive. Most importantly, the archetypal essence of the forms has been carefully preserved. Design of the 13 numbers follow the traditional dot-bar format of ancient sources. In a vigesimal system, it remains a perfect design scheme that cannot be possibly improved upon. Except that it is now carved in hard stone instead of limestone — and with technological precision.
With the Mandãla, the no-beginning-no-end sacred cycle of the Mesoamericans means to re-materialize into the living Kukulkan entity that it used to be at Chichen Itza and Teotihuacan; and that the older Mayas, Zapotecs, Olmecs used to conjure — before it had a name, before it had a shape. Today a three millennia-long unbroken chain of sacred time reckoning has been given a fresh new face. Going further than ever attempted before. Perhaps taking perhaps the materialization of Time to its ultimate expression.
SHORT COUNT & LONG COUNT COMPONENT Full structure of the Long Count fractal is on display, not just its abbreviated form. 12-21-2012 thus shows: 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.0.0.0.0 A mathematico-poetic construct of ultimate elegance. Anchoring the monument, and the world of man, deep into the dreamtime of a marvelous multiverse! Here once again carved in stone, with techno-precision, in the format of its earliest historical antecedents — dots & bars arranged in a single vertical column. Emphasizing the more linear notion of time this larger structure represents.
When on 13.0.0.0.0 (corresponding to 8/11/3114 BCE) “the image was made to appear” Time materialized out of the dreamtime and history began. 5200 years later, on the symmetrical lookalike occurence of 13.0.0.0.0 (this time corresponding to 12-21-2012), “the image is made to appear” once more. The Mandãla — embodiement of the Lord of Time itself — is ritual fulfilled. Out of history and into post-history, it is Time materialized anew.
